With distinctive historical accuracy, skilled storyteller T. Elizabeth Renich brings the Civil War to life by blending documented facts and memorable characters in a moving account detailing a Confederate family and their determined struggle for survival amid crucial battles and daring cavalry raids…

Non-Fiction

Liz Curtis Higgs was a keynote speaker at the online 2020 She Writes for Him Conference. In a series of swapped emails prior to the event, I confessed to her I was ready to give up—I’d had my shot at that elusive dream, and written nothing of merit since Strength and Glory was released 20 years ago. But God…

“Start again,” Liz encouraged emphatically when she virtually called me out. The take-away from the conference held a distinct prompting to write something. A call for submissions by the managing editor of She Writes for Him: Stories of Living Hope, a themed second-in-a-series compilation—in which Liz was one of the headlining authors—had been issued. Cancer was one of six topics in the collection—and both Liz and I are survivors. Out of my comfort zone, I wrote a piece that was chosen for inclusion and became Chapter Four: “Cancer is a Team Sport.” It tells—briefly—about some of the amazing things God did during my 2005 battle with ovarian cancer. The word count was capped at 1500, but there’s much more to the story. I later enrolled in a 21-Day SWFH Writing Boot Camp, where I got running start on my latest historical fiction project. God’s ways are higher—and reach farther.

She Writes for Him: Stories of Living Hope was honored with AWSA’s 3rd place Inspirational Gift Book Golden Scroll Award in 2021. I’m honored to be among the authors of the SWFH-SOLH collaboration and pray God uses our stories in ways we can’t imagine, perpetuating His hope.

P.W.
Richmond, Virginia

“The romance was refreshing and wholesome, worth the wait. T. Elizabeth Renich’s descriptions of love and war are tastefully woven into a harsh time period. I cared and cheered for characters who loved each other, believed in God’s providence, and lived to fight another day.”

Joann G.
Front Royal, Virginia

“Accuracy seems very important to T. Elizabeth Renich, and it shows in the detailed events included in her stories. Our home schoolers supplemented history reading with the Shadowcreek Chronicles because of the diligent research. I wish she would write more books.”
