The internet wasn’t available when I was writing my Shadowcreek Chronicles, back in the day. Libraries, museums, historical sites, and battlefields had to be visited in person to gain access to historians, experts, and information. Search engines have made research vastly different than it used to be – you don’t have to visit during business hours, no one knows if you’re wearing sweats and slippers, and you can submit questions via email! It’s my personal preference to try to get to the places that I write about, if it’s possible. Online, information is exponentially more accessible.
