Hello! My name is T. Elizabeth Renich and I write historical fiction. Football season is my favorite time of year (my favorite team is whichever one I know someone coaching or playing). I enjoy creating photobooks and research road trips with friends! You can learn more about me and my books on my website, telizabethrenich.com, subscribing to my newsletter, Instagram, or on Facebook. That’s where you’ll see where I’ve been lately to research for my new Sovereign Liberty Series:
Rumbles of discontent following the French and Indian War stretch from the Ohio River Valley’s frontier to London’s Houses of Parliament. The British citizens of England’s American Colonies strive to maintain their rights by pushing back against perceived tyranny and grappling with the consequences of breaking with King George III’s reign. How many will join the Patriot cause in opposition to loyal Tories remains a question. Common sense will chart the course of the Ravensworth and St. James families–interconnected by bonds of love and friendship–and require ample risk in declaring allegiance… not only to country but to each other.
X does not necessarily mark the spot–but a historical marker might. Markers display information that often sends me on research rabbit trails or provides a visual for the lay of the land–then and now. Walking the ground provides inspiration. Markers are also tributes to influential people who made an impact in their time. It’s a challenge to weave real people into my stories where they mingle with my invented characters. I love it when readers confide they learned something new in my books: “Is that true? I didn’t know that!”

My newest release, A Worthy Risk, is set after the French and Indian War and headed into the American Revolution. I wonder if there will be any new historical markers in honor of the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence…
